Award Winner!

Rhiannon wears a sparkling ball gown and holds a glass award with Fiddleheads' name etched into it

Rhiannon Nachbaur received more accolades this fall!

Her violin business, Fiddleheads Violin School, won the "People's Choice Award" in the Shuswap Business Excellence Awards in Salmon Arm, British Columbia, with a multitude of nominees from all around the region.

Jennifer Moore with the Downtown Improvement Association said, "The People's Choice award is presented to one of the nominees, as selected by the Adjudication Committee, on the basis of receiving among the highest number of nominations in various categories as well as outstanding reasons for nomination."

This award category was the grand finale to the gala evening and the nominees had not been announced until the presentation. The award is particularly significant to Rhiannon as it’s a firm indication that her community and customers strongly support and believe in the work she does with her unique shop and school.

Rhiannon has taken home several regional business awards in the past five years, including an Excellence Award in 2004 for "Best Young Entrepreneur."

In this year’s awards she and Fiddleheads were also nominated for:

  • Customer Service (Individual)

  • Customer Service (Business)

  • Community Booster

  • Business Person of the Year

Another Recent Win

Amazingly, this is also Rhiannon's second award received in less than four weeks. In September she won the distinction of "Classical Artist of the Year" at the 2006 Okanagan Music Awards in Vernon, BC, a sold-out event that celebrates professional musicians from the entire southern interior of the province.

Rhiannon thanks her customers, concert supporters, readership and colleagues for believing in her and her vision to deliver the best products, service and value to her customers than any other violin business.

The Business Excellence Awards were held Saturday, October 21, 2006 as the finale to Canadian Business Week nationally. The Gala event was hosted by the local Chamber of Commerce, the Downtown Improvement Association and Community Futures Development Corporation.
